Warm Ojas Shake aka Golden Yogini Milk

What is Ojas? In Ayurveda, Ojas is the subtle, vital essence of life, representing deep immunity, vitality, spiritual strength, and happiness. It helps to protect against disease, aging, and decay. If you feel constantly tired, weak and susceptible to illness, chances are your Ojas is low. Below is for one 12oz serving.
- 3 whole dates (medjool are the best-pitted)
- 1 cup whole organic cow or goat’s milk, coconut or almond milk
- 3 pinches or shakes cinnamon powder
- 2 pinches or shakes cardamom powder (or grind the seeds-way better)
- 2 pinches or shakes of turmeric
- 2 pinches of ginger or fresh ginger
- A few strands of saffron
- 10 almonds soaked overnight, rinsed and peeled (I just buy the already blanched at Vitamin Cottage and keep them in the freezer)
- ½ teaspoon of ghee (optional)
Marcee’s Tips:
- Have the dates and almonds ready to go in a high-speed blender.
- Boil the milk with the spices till foamy. Do not stir but let the foam envelope the spices.
- Stay mindful and attentive or you will have a mess to cleanup.
- Pour the hot milk with spices over the dates and almonds.
Blend until smooth.
