  2. Somatic Yogais the quiet voice of the body itself, speaking in the language of sensation.
  3. Ayurveda is teaching how and why true health is born not from force, but from living in harmony with our own unique nature and the seasons.
  4. Yoga Meditation is using specific pranayama (breathing techniques) until the chatter of thought grows quiet and the vast, luminous presence of our true nature shines through.
  5. Restorative Yogais the intelligent support of bolsters, blankets, and other props, helping your body feel cradled like a child in Divine Mother's arms.

Anahata "Ana"

Let's speak of a radiant little being named Anahata, whose very name echoes the sacred heart chakra— the place where love flows without end. She's a young miniature Schnauzer who now carries the quiet torch of studio guardian at FHYS.

With a heart as open as the sky, and certificated as a registered Service Animal, she greets each student who enters with pure, unfiltered joy and a deep, instinctive respect for the space each student holds within. Before the practice begins, she moves like a playful breeze, inviting laughter and lightness into the room. Yet the moment the class begins, she settles into her comfy bed with the serene pause of one who understands the sacredness of stillness.

She rests there, breathing in rhythm with our collective yogic breathing, never once disturbing the quiet unfolding of our hearts and bodies.

Only when the final word “Namaste” is spoken— that beautiful bow of the soul to the soul— does she rise again, as if the universe itself has whispered that it is time to return to connection.

In this gentle rhythm of presence and restraint, Anahata shows us the value of true friendship: to offer ourselves fully when the moment calls, and to honor the stillness of others with equal reverence.

TuTone

In the warm light of loving memories, we wish to share with you the story of a beautiful soul we named Tutone because of his two shades of blond fur.

He came into this world as a rescue, carrying within him the needless emotional wounds that so many of us bear. He was welcomed into our home. There, in the warm embrace of mutual love, he discovered his true purpose—the simple, sacred role of official greeter at the yoga studio. With an open happiness that touched everyone, he never once disturbed the flow of a class. In every greeting, in every glance, he brought light and love into the hearts of all of us in the studio.

His favorite yoga move was the drop back. He would sit upright, steady and calm, then— with complete trust—lean backward, surrendering into the fall. He knew, without doubt, that caring hands would be there to catch him, guiding him gently down to rest upon his mat.

In that moment of letting go, he showed us the deep truth of faith: that when we open our hearts and trust in the kindness of others, we are held, always.

Tutone lived as a small teacher of great influence. Although he is physically gone now, his example continues to awaken in us all the same gentle courage—to greet each day with love, to trust in the goodness around us, and to bring light wherever we go. With eternal love to the yogi of love, Tutone.
